Industrial Automation

The goal of the research division Industrial Automation is to improve the development process and re-engineering of the complex automation systems. These systems should also be optimized in terms of product and production quality as well as in its development time. A strong focus lies on efficiency and quality of software development, e.g. by automatic PLC code generation from models that are in the domain of machine and plant manufacturing. Therefore, various notations, e.g. UML, SysML investigated and, where appropriate, additional notational elements or diagrams are added or adapted and on this basis new model-based development tools (editors, code generators) are developed.
