Ralph's role at the Eclipse Foundation is focused on growing the Eclipse Ecosystem across Europe. He is directly involved in industrial open source solutions based on Eclipse platform such as Polarsys, an Industry Working Group focusing on Open Source tools for the development of Embedded Systems (www.polarsys.org), or Auto-IWG, an open source initiative to define and implement a standard platform for the software development tools used in the automotive industry (http://wiki.eclipse.org/Auto_IWG).

In this informal talk, Ralph will show the importance of developing industrial ecosystems through an open source development environment like Eclipse. He will provide hints about Eclipse initiatives in this direction, and how to contribute to the development of these open source tools using Eclipse as the development environment.
