Prof. Dr. Heinrich Hußmann studied computer science, with a minor degree in business, at the Technical University Munich (TUM). He obtained a doctorate from the University of Passau in 1989 and was appointed professor at TUM in 1994.

Prof. Hußmann was active as a systems engineer in the area of public communication networks at Siemens AG between 1994 and 1997. He was a full professor for software engineering at Technical University Dresden from 1997 to 2002 and has been serving as a full professor for media informatics at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich since 2003.

Through his industry activities, Prof. Hußmann acquired a wide range of experience in the development of innovative multimedia services for broadband networks. He was involved in several European broadband and Internet-based services projects in collaboration with media and telecommunications companies such as Deutsche Telekom, Telecom Italia, Telefónica, NTT DoCoMo and Bertelsmann.

Prof. Hußmann has been a research dellow at fortiss since 2017. He concentrates on the research field "Human-Centric Engineering", with a focus on Human-Computer Interaction and Intelligent User Interfaces.
