The Bavarian Center for Software Innovation is a practice-oriented cooperation between theResearch Institute of the Free State of Bavaria, fortiss, the Technical University of Ingolstadt and the University of Applied Sciences Amberg-Weiden with established regional networks.
fortiss manages the center, acts as a multiplier in its network, and works closely with its cooperation partners.

Our targets

We want to strengthen the software competence of medium-sized companies in Bavaria in the long term. To achieve this, we aim to initiate efficient research collaborations with SMEs in the field of software engineering in close cooperation with Bavarian universities.

The Bavarian Center for Software Innovation focuses on the logistics, mobility, engineering, production, health, administration, and energy sectors. We focus on methods from the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) and industrial communication, machine learning and AI, platform engineering and knowledge-based software engineering, software quality and data quality, and cybersecurity.

The cooperation of the three partners provides a wide range of core competencies in the field of software engineering and AI, as well as regional contacts for joint and targeted research. The Bavarian Center for Software Innovation services are open to SMEs from all sectors.
