About fortiss

Cutting-edge research in software, systems and service engineering

We are shaping the digital transformation for the bavarian economy and administration

For over ten years, fortiss has been a recognised and important research partner for the bavarian economy and public administration when it comes to pioneering technologies of software, systems and service engineering as part of the BAYERN DIGITAL initiative. With our work, we are doing justice to the claim that a competitive edge in key technological issues is only possible in global competition if both basic research and a focus on applied research are taken into account when developing innovative products and services.

As the research institute of the Free State of Bavaria for software-intensive systems and services and as a non-commercial, scientific, legally independent research institution, our legal form is a non-profit GmbH. Our shareholders are the Free State of Bavaria (2/3) and the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft (1/3).

Our AI Center explores the potential of AI technologies and develops new methods for their safe usage. On this basis, companies can develop innovative, AI-based products, services, value chains and areas of business.

Our service fortiss Mittelstand for SMEs give our medium-sized partners easier access to the latest technologies and they provide support from the implementation phase right through to marketable prototypes.
