The Digital Innovation Hubs (DIHs) have become a great success factor for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Europe. Unique sector expertise from academia and industry is concentrated in the DIHSs, and all stakeholders can draw on both a regional and a pan-European network of DIHs. In this way, SMEs, start-ups and mid-caps are given the best possible support in improving their products and services by integrating innovative digital technologies.
The DIH4AI project specifically aims to build a federation of AI-on-demand innovation and collaboration platforms. In doing so, the joint development and delivery of ecosystem, business, and technology transformation services will be supported by a network of regional DIHs. These specialize in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and target local SMEs and local tech authorities.
In the DIH4AI project, research and industry are working intensively together to ensure the deployment of state-of-the-art AI capacities and capabilities available in Europe. Therefore, fortiss and DI4AI are now inviting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with innovative ideas in the field of artificial intelligence to participate in the 2nd Open Call.
Up to 10 applications will be selected focusing on the development of new AI solutions that will subsequently extend the AI4EU platform. Successful applications will be funded with up to 100,000 euros.

Interested small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) from all EU Member States or associated countries that collaborate with non-profit research institutes and DIHs and that wish to participate in innovative AI experiments.
