Conference

1st German Robotics Conference

The 1st German Robotics Conference will take place in Nuremberg from March 13 to 15, 2025. The conference offers a central platform for the exchange of technological advances in robotics and AI. The event brings together leading researchers, industry experts and scientists to present the latest developments in robotics. The aim of the conference is to promote collaboration and innovation in Germany and to strengthen the exchange with the international robotics community. The German Robotics Conference and the Robotics Institute Germany are initiatives of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research.

Among the keynote speakers is fortiss Research Fellow Prof. Dr. Michael Beetz (University of Bremen), who will talk about “Everyday Activity Science and Engineering (EASE)”. In his presentation, he will explain how robots can understand and carry out human activities using cognitive models, logical thinking and the integration of AI.

The fortiss fields of expertise Neuromorphic Computing and Platform Engineering will also be represented at the conference. As one of only two demo exhibitors, scientists Dr. Axel von Arnim and Jules Lecomte will present innovative robotics solutions:

  • Neuromorphic Computing: Presentation of a neuromorphic music gesture recognition sensor and a low-data pose estimation sensor. A poster on the CORINNE project will also be presented.
  • Platform Engineering: Presentation of the SMEcobot, a solution for intuitive instruction of assembly processes and autonomous production.
