AI and I Hackathon: Co-Creativity between Humans and LLMs

The explosive spread of large language models (LLMs) such as OpenAI's GPT or Google's Gemini is fundamentally changing the way we interact with computer systems. Consequently, the use of computer systems is shifting from a passive tool that follows our instructions to a collaborative partner with whom we get things done together.

While today we mainly use these capabilities of LLMs for answering questions and the production of long bodies of text based on keywords, this shift also opens up new possibilities in the creative use of text. LLMs can not only generate content on command but also actively participate in the creative process, suggest ideas, react to our ideas, and thus further develop texts. As a result, such joint human-LLM teams can potentially produce better, more creative, and more engaging texts in less time than either humans or machines alone.

In this Hackathon, we therefore seek to develop systems that utilize this potential and support users in generating creative texts together with LLMs. These systems should promote creativity through the clever use of prompts, asking the user, and similar techniques. The solutions will be evaluated by a jury, which will pay particular attention to the extent to which they support joint creativity between humans and machines.

Hackathon format

Participants are provided with a framework that allows them to easily integrate their applications into the platform. Furthermore, we offer an application template with a basic game to quickly test the idea you have developed as a prototype.

  • Duration: 1.5 days
  • Number of participants: Up to 4 people per team
  • Support: Experts are available during the entire hackathon
  • Win great prices with your group of 4!
    • 1st Prize: 800 Euro
    • 2nd Prize: 400 Euro
    • 3rd Prize: 200 Euro
