The term hackathon is a blend of the words “to hack” and “marathon”. Increasing numbers of companies are using hackathons to develop creative, team-based solution approaches or to design new products.
The Kommunalunternehmen Strukturentwicklung Landkreis Pfaffenhofen a.d. Ilm (KUS) – a subsidiary of the county of Pfaffenhofen a.d. Ilm that supports local businesses), in conjunction with the Center of Competence for Digital Trade, the fortiss research institute of the Free State of Bavaria for software-intensive systems and services and the brigk Digital Start-up Center, is organizing the region’s second hackathon for small-to-medium enterprises with the aim of showing them the chances and opportunities that digitalization offers.
