The FOundations for Continuous Engineering of Trustworthy Autonomy (FOCETA) project has spent the past three years developing the foundation for continuous engineering of trustworthy learning-enabled autonomous systems, integrating data-driven and model-based engineering. The new techniques, leveraging open-source tools and open data-exchange standards, will be validated through industrially relevant, highly demanding applications such as urban driving automation and intelligent medical devices, to prove viability, scalability, and safety. Among other things, fortiss researchers have developed methods for system-level testing, applying unsupervised learning approaches for clustering data and to find safety-relevant edge or corner cases.

On October 11 and 12, the FOCETA project closing event will take place in Grenoble. For this purpose, on the morning of October 11, 2023, the Final Review Meeting with the European Commission Project Officer, external reviewers and the Advisory Board will be held without public participation. In the afternoon, the live demonstrations will be presented to the public: One live demonstration on the Automated Parking use case (led by DENSO Europe) and one on the Medical use case (led by RGB Medical Devices S.A.). Other live demonstrations will be presented in parallel sessions, including Siemens EDA (Siemens Digital Industries Software), Graz University of Technology, Intel Labs, Siemens Industry Software and fortiss.

Researcher Dr. Tewodros Beyene, from the fortiss Software Dependability competence area, will present an Integrated Framework for Continuous and Incremental Creation of Assurance Cases at this session. In the public workshops on October 12, 2023, external experts will give additional topic presentations of interest to the FOCETA research area.
