Digital innovations for Bavarian industry
fortiss is one of the project partners involved in the European Digital Innovation Hub | Digital Innovation for Bavarian Industry (EDIH DIBI), one of three European digital innovation hubs in Bavaria. The EDIH DIBI integrates the activities of the former Munich Innovation Hub for Applied AI.
The EDIHs belong to the European Union’s (EU) Digital Europe Program. Backed by a European-wide network of innovation centers, the hubs are designed to support the digital transformation of administrative services and industry. The goal is to serve as a central point of contact offering a wide range of services for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Bavaria in the fields of digitalization and artificial intelligence (AI), and to help these companies acquire the technologies and implement the applications. This initiative is funded through the European Union Program “European Digital Innovation Centers.
The services offered by the European Digital Innovation Hubs can be broken down into four categories:
The decentralized distribution of the eight project partners across Bavaria ensures that the points of contact can act on-site within their region and thus reach and support companies more effectively.
fortiss brings its expertise in the area of software engineering and AI to the consortium. The area of Skills and Training includes training and education services continually updated on the fortiss event calendar page. In the area of Innovation Ecosystem, fortiss contributes through its presence in numerous networks, as well as by participating in and organizing various conferences and events.
The Test before Invest segment largely involves utilization of the fortiss labs, where interested companies can learn about and test current trends and developments in the field of software and AI. The fortiss hardware and software infrastructure can also be made available if required.
