Thomas Vallon studied theology at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich and philosophy at the Munich School of Philosophy.

After working at the School for Christian Social Ethics as a research associate, he joined InterFace AG in 1987 as a quality and support engineer, working his way up as assistant to the director, then to managing director and member of board.

From 2008 to 2011 he worked parallel as a business mediator and then joined fortiss as program manager in 2015.

Thomas Vallon has served as Business Director at fortiss - the research institute of the Free State of Bavaria for software-intensive systems and services – since 2016.
