Parisa ensures compliance with legal standards in software development.

Hello Paris. Can you give us some insight into your work at fortiss?

For software systems to meet public standards, they must comply with various regulations, policies, mandates, and guidelines. As a researcher in the Requirements Engineering competence field, I am therefore concerned with the development of a tool-supported approach for the automatic extraction and conformance checking of legal requirements from legal texts. One crucial step towards achieving this compliance is to ensure that the software requirements align with the relevant regulatory artifacts. However, this task can be labor-intensive and error-prone. To address this challenge, my research aims to develop an innovative approach for automatically collecting requirements from regulatory texts. By integrating compliance checks that compare the requirements against the relevant regulatory texts, this approach seeks to facilitate developers' understanding of how regulatory requirements can be incorporated into software engineering, and how to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
