Experience practical research at the fortiss Labs
How does current research translate into practical solutions? Visit us on November 12, 2026, at fortiss Labs and take a look behind the scenes at a research institute that bridges the gap between science and industrial applications.
During the labs tour, you’ll experience cutting-edge technologies and research projects through selected demonstrations. You’ll learn how new approaches are tested and how companies can collaborate with fortiss to address specific technological challenges.
Afterward, you can delve deeper into what you’ve learned in a workshop hosted by fortiss’s Architectures and Services for Critical Infrastructures (ASCI) division. The focus will be on issues related to data, energy, and sustainability, as well as how software and systems engineering can help connect existing systems more efficiently and better understand and control energy flows.
Take this opportunity to learn about new technologies, gain inspiration for your own work, and discover potential avenues for collaboration with the research community.
fortiss labs guided tour & workshop at a glance
A lab tour and a lab tour that includes a workshop are two separate event formats, each of which requires its own registration.
The workshop is being held as part of the EU-funded edih dina project. The workshop has limited number of registrations.
-
- Experience the latest technologies: Discover innovative prototypes and research projects in the fields of energy management, robotics, autonomous driving, and neuromorphic computing.
- Gain inspiration for energy and sustainability: Learn how digital technologies can help use energy more efficiently, intelligently connect systems, and implement sustainable solutions.
- Bring your own questions: Take the opportunity to discuss specific challenges and use cases with researchers.
- Learn about collaborating with researchers: Gain insights into how fortiss operates and discover opportunities for joint projects.
- Benefit from the exchange: Network with other companies and draw inspiration from real-world examples and experiences.
-
The event is aimed at companies, public institutions, and anyone interested in digital technologies, energy management, and the practical application of current research.
The workshop also provides a forum for anyone with questions related to data, energy, and sustainability—regardless of whether they already have a specific use case in mind or are simply looking for new ideas.

fortiss Labs Tour
The fortiss Labs tour offers you a behind-the-scenes look at current research and development at fortiss. Experience demonstrators in the fields of autonomous driving, energy management, and neuromorphic computing, and learn about innovative technologies in practical use.
A special highlight is the SMEcobot demonstrator from the ittelstand-Digital Center Augsburg, which enables flexible adaptation to process parameters and natural-language interaction with the robot system.
In addition, you’ll learn how companies can benefit from collaborating with fortiss to bring new technological solutions to market faster.
fortiss Labs tour & follow-up workshop
Following the lab tour, the interactive workshop will focus on discussing current challenges in the areas of energy and sustainability.
Together, we’d like to identify points of interest for your own work and discuss how the technologies and solutions presented at fortiss Labs can be applied to specific use cases and challenges in your company. Feel free to bring your own questions, challenges, or use cases and discuss them directly with our researchers.
At the same time, you’ll gain practical insight into how software and systems engineering can help address these challenges. Using selected research and application examples, we’ll demonstrate how systems and components can be interconnected in an interoperable manner, how data can be efficiently integrated, and how energy flows can be monitored, forecasted, and optimized.
