Evidential Toolbus 2 (ETB2)
Evidential Toolbus 2 (ETB2) consists of multiple components that collectively enable an end-to-end, decentralized, and continuous assurance process.
At the core of the architecture is the Query Processor, whose various layers interactively collaborate to generate claims together with their supporting evidence for a given query. This component is complemented by five additional elements: the Tools Database, Workflows Database, Servers Database, Claims Database, and the Evidence Repository. Together, these components form the foundation for decentralized and continuous query processing as well as claim generation.
The Tools Database manages the specifications of the tools available on an ETB2 node, while the Workflows Database stores assurance workflows for processing complex queries that cannot be handled by a single tool.
The Servers Database maintains information about all remote nodes subscribed to by an ETB2 node. The Claims Database stores and manages all claims established on a node. The Evidence Repository serves as a tamper-resistant storage system for all evidence artifacts that support the claims hosted on an ETB2 node.
