The final event of the AI Data Tooling project will take place on December 5 and 6 at the BMW Welt Business Center. The research project has achieved remarkable results by developing a complete data solution for the training and validation of AI functions in the field of highly automated driving.
AI Data Tooling was initiated and developed as part of the Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA) flagship initiative autonomous and connected driving and is funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK). In the project, tools and methods for the provision of data from various sensor modalities for AI-based functions were developed and investigated for the first time in their entirety. The aim was to develop a complete data solution for the training and validation of AI-based automated driving functions through the integrated consideration of real data, synthetically generated data, augmented data as a hybrid of these, as well as methods for the efficient handling of this database.
At the event, the results will be explained in high-level presentations and an extensive poster exhibition. The experts will offer insights into the significant advances in data, methods, and tools for different sensor modalities and will guide through the data kit process and its key outcomes and impacts on research and development. Deep dives and scientific impulses offer the opportunity to gain insights into the challenges on the path of AI data tooling and to discuss future fields of research. At this point, fortiss researcher from the Machine Learning competence field will present the fortiss results in the project. The event will also provide an opportunity for discussion and networking.
