RTAPHM

Reliable and secure cloud service infrastructure

RTAPHM

In the Real Time Analytics, Prognostics and Health Management (RTAPHM) project, fortiss is developing a reliable and secure cloud infrastructure to run safety-critical services.

Project description

The RTAPHM project is developing a digital platform for service delivery by fleets of Unmanned Arial Vehicles (UAVs). The execution of services by UAVs places high demands on the security of the digital platform. We are developing an infrastructure for the secure and reliable execution of the required services. This core system is developed on the basis of cloud technologies and integrated the dedicated platform building blocks of the partners for the provision of digital services in the areas of maintenance, operational reliability and fleet management, their stationary and mobile access as well as cross-sectional functions, in particular for authentication and authorization.

Research contribution

The particular research challenge is to construct a reliable and secure overall system from potentially unreliable and insecure components of a multi-cloud system (e.g., components-off-the-shelf, software-of-unknown-pedigree). To this end, we are investigating and prototyping recent approaches to secure systems using runtime monitoring, evidence-based transactions, and also accountability techniques based on tamper-resistant distributed logs for forensic analysis and diagnosis.
